Democratic-Socialist Perspective from Pakistan

Louis Lingg writes: "The democratic-socialist Labour Party of Pakistan has posted an essay by Rizwan Atta offering perspectives on the crisis in Pakistan and Afghanistan, including implications for the military government, the religious fundamentalist movement, and for Pakistani workers and the Pakistani labor movement.

An Excerpt:

From the ver first day, LPP condemned the terrorist attack and policies of the US imperialism carried out in the past against the colonial countries.
LPP would never justify the terrorist attack for any reason. But it was consistence in its opposition to the methods and program of the US Imperialism.
It was already organizing the anti IMF and Word Bank movement in Pakistan. It also started to build a peace movement as like others, it is anticipating
a full fledges war on Afghanistan. LPP has to oppose the religious fundamentalism and the powers that were harboring it, mainly the military regime of
Pakistan in general and ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) in particular."
