DETAILS: The cabaret laws in NYC are an infringement of our constitutional right to freedom of expression. Originally passed in the 1920s to keep the races from intermingling, the laws are now used to fine and close down clubs and bars, and are increasingly used to target the political and underground art related nightlife.
