The Bourse Director believes that Norway already has the prerequisites for building up a Norwegian or Scandinavian energy bourse.

Japanese Red Army Founder Sentenced

The founder of the leftist Japanese Red Army, once one of the world's most notorious radical groups, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by a Tokyo court for attempted murder and masterminding a 1974 attack on the French embassy in The Hague.

The Tokyo District Court on Thursday handed down the ruling on Fusako Shigenobu, 60, known as the "empress" for her leadership of the organisation, founded in 1971 in alliance with anti-Israeli Palestinian factions.

Students Expel US Ambassador from Middle East University Campus!

US’s ambassador to Turkey, Ross Wilson went to Middle East Technical
University to deliver a speech Thursday.

The rector, Ural Akbulut greeted the ambassador, who was supposed to
address the students at the International Relationship Department at the
METU. The visit was not publicized and the press and other departments of
the university were not notified of the ambassador’s planned speech. Yet,
the Communist Party member students learned about the event and staged a
protest in front of the hall the US ambassador was supposed to make his
presentation.

The students in their chants, reminded the US ambassador of the January 6,
1969 event where the then US ambassador to Turkey Robert Kommer’s
limousine was torched by the students in the same university. Robert
Kommer had been a key player in the “pacification” program conducted by
the US in Viet Nam prior to his assignment to Turkey. US ambassador Robert
Kommer was responsible for the murders of hundreds of thousands of
Vietnamese before he became ambassador to Turkey.

The students reminded the fate of the previous US ambassador to the
present one, Wilson, by chanting, “Hey Yankee! Do you remember Kommer?”
They also chanted and carried banners reading, “Iraq’s resistance will
win!”, “Murderer Occupier, Get out!”

When the embassy officials warned the ambassador, walking towards the steps
of the building, he said, “Then we should leave right away!” and
immediately made his escape out of the campus.

MEXICO CITY — Tens of thousands of Mexicans filled an ancient square
in this capital Sunday to hear leftist presidential frontrunner
Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador pledge to distance himself from U.S.
policies.

While not naming the United States or the Bush administration, Lopez
Obrador, a fiery former mayor of Mexico City, made it clear that he
would return Mexico to its traditional foreign policy of
non-intervention in the affairs of its neighbors.

Conservative President Vicente Fox broke that tradition after taking
office in 2000 when he joined the United States in condemning the
lack of fundamental liberties in Cuba and elsewhere. Like U.S.
foreign policy, Mexico's under Fox sought to promote human rights and
civil liberties abroad.

That'll change, Lopez Obrador signaled to a crowd estimated between
70,000 and 120,000. Having led public opinion polls for two years,
Lopez Obrador is on track to become Mexico's first president elected
from a left-wing party, the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).

date to demand, through demonstrations, the resignation of Macapal

Because of that threat Macapal declared the national emergency state,
suspended all of that anniversary's celebration, ordered the arrest
of top rank military and legislators allegedly implicated in the
closure of several daily news.

Month of Strike Action Spreads to Call Center, Burger King, Wellington

The Pizza Hut and KFC national call center, the first Burger King
stores and the first Wellington fast food store, joined the
SuperSizeMyPay.Com month of industrial action last night.

"The call center workers, who are a part of the SuperSizeMyPay.Com campaign, but who have a different contract to the fast food stores, are asking for a training rate of $11 and $12.50 after 3 months as well as a 50% discount on Restaurant Brands food.

"In west Auckland, workers from two fast food stores became the first ever striking Burger King workers in New Zealand. The workers took action despite a memo sent from their head office falsely claiming that they would be fired if they took industrial action.

Supreme Court Okays Hallucinogenic Tea

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court ruled unanimously Tuesday that a small congregation in New Mexico may use hallucinogenic tea as part of a four-hour ritual intended to connect with God.

Justices, in their first religious freedom decision under Chief Justice John Roberts, moved decisively to keep the government out of a church's religious practice. Federal drug agents should have been barred from confiscating the hoasca tea of the Brazil-based church, Roberts wrote in the decision.

The tea, which contains an illegal drug known as DMT, is considered sacred to members of O Centro Espirita Beneficiente Uniao do Vegetal, which has a blend of Christian beliefs and South American traditions. Members believe they can understand God only by drinking the tea, which is consumed twice a month at four-hour ceremonies.

New Justice Samuel Alito did not take part in the case, which was argued last fall before Justice Sandra Day O'Connor before her retirement. Alito was on the bench for the first time on Tuesday

Two More Charged in Oregon with "Ecoterrorist" Arson

United States Attorney Karin J. Immergut announced today that a federal grand jury in Eugene, Oregon, has returned two separate 14-count indictments charging Nathan Fraser Block and Joyanna L. Zacher in the May 21, 2001, arson at Jefferson Poplar Farm in Clatskanie, Oregon. Block and Zacher join four other defendants already charged in connection with the crime.

Block, age 24, and Zacher, age 28, were arrested today by federal agents in Olympia, Washington, where both reside. The agents also executed a search warrant at the residence. Block and Zacher will appear in federal court in Tacoma, Washington, where government attorneys will seek their return to Eugene, Oregon, to face trial.

Historic find in Bisbee courthouse

A woman who works at the Cochise County Courthouse stumbled upon original
documents that may reveal history pertaining to the Bisbee Deportations of
1917.

Fran Ranaccelli says she found a box full of the documents in the evidence
room of the county courthouse, "As I looked it said 1917, I.W.W. and I
just froze."

The box contains documents including witness affidavits, and subpoenas of
the court case that followed the round up of more than 1200 miners in
Bisbee after they went on a strike citing improper working conditions.

The miners who were members of the International Workers of the World were
rounded up and put on a train and then transported to Columbus, New Mexico
where they were abandoned on July 12, 1917. Two days later U.S. troops
rescued the men.

UA Vice Provost and Historian Dr. Juan Garcia says finding these documents
may offer a painful insight into Arizona history during World War I.

"Nativism and hysteria generated by war can lead people to do things that
they normally wouldn't do," Garcia said.

The documents are the first original items from the Bisbee Deportation to
be found at the Cochise County courthouse.

Superior Court Clerk Denise Lundin says the documents will become archived.

"We're finding history and we're looking at a document signed by a person
who's long dead, who really tells us a story through those documents,"
Lundin says.
