The People's Strike A Day of Non-Compliance and Resistance September 27th
Convergence: Skillshares, Meetings and Preperation September 25 and 26th
Date Change!
The IMF and World Bank have moved their meetings in fear of the planned
People's Strike that was to occur on October 1st. They have changed the
meeting dates to September 28 and 29 to try to avoid the toll the Strike
would take on their ability to effectivly hold their meetings in DC on the
1st of October.
We are currently in the process of planning the sixth annual, National
Conference on Organized Resistance. This conference is held towards the end
of January, in Washington D.C., on the campus of American University. The
conference hopes to play a significant role in coordinating a dialogue
between activist groups, and spark in-depth discussion of strategies and
tactics of our various social justice movements. The conference usually
draws 1,000-3,000 people from all over the country, as well as from
outside the United States.
On the 1st anniversary of Carlo's murder by Italian
state forces the Anarchist Federation in Scotland are
pleased to commemorate the occasion by launching our
new newsletter Ar-a-mach. This is Gaelic for
insurrection, rebellion, uprising and highlights our
commitment to our ancient language. Our website is
bilingual English/Gaelic and can be found at
alba where a link is
provided to download Ar-a-mach in PDF format.

Baltimore Anti-Racist Action writes " THEY WILL NOT PASS! SHUT DOWN THE NEO-NAZIS IN D.C. AUGUST 24!
Smash the National Alliance's racist rally and white-power show!
On August 24th, the National Alliance is planning "Rock Against Israel": a demonstration of white supremacist Hitler-fetishists protesting against the white supremacist U.S. government's support of white supremacist religious nuts in Israel. (Confused yet?) They plan to rally at the Capitol building from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and then meet for dinner and a white power concert in the evening.

Dispensing with Formalities (DwF) began in the summer of 1997 in Chicago. Groups and individuals were invited to develop projects and distribute them on the streets using free newspaper dispensers. The dispensers were placed on a number of street corners. They distributed the contributors’ art, information and ideas.
DwF systems have been set up in large and small cities in different countries. These systems can be set up anywhere in the world.
The dispensers were initially designed for direct marketing purposes. We have put them towards more creative and interesting ends. The dispensers allow for more open and personal uses of public spaces than are usually tolerated.
DwF builds concrete, alternative systems that don’t repeat expected modes of art distribution and reception. DwF places art and ideas directly into peoples’ daily experiences.

Organized by Maria Troy, Melesa Klosek of Acme, and Brett Bloom.
